Sous Chef

D&A are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the team at the Golden Boar in Freckenham near Newmarket. We are looking for a Sous Chef with 2 years’ experience. The venue is a traditional fresh food pub on the outskirts of Newmarket serving a mixture of traditional English meals and specials.

We are looking for a passionate chef who is used to working in a busy creative food environment and used to cooking food from fresh daily.

The business is extremely popular with locals, regulars and destination customers.

The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work across all sections in the kitchen, including the lunch, dinner & function menus. The client is looking for a Sous chef who is happy to be involved with menu direction, and new dishes, team training & stocktakes, you will also get the opportunity to be heavily involved with the daily changing specials menu.

The ideal candidate will come from a busy food background, have a good understanding of menu writing & costing, stocktakes, full due diligence and be able to run the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to work a variety of shifts covering weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

This role comes with amazing career progression opportunities, a great negotiable salary of around £20,000 -£22,000.
