HGV Class 1 ADR Driver – Wisbech

D&A Group are currently looking for a HGV Class 1 ADR Driver for the Wisbech area. It will start as a 6 month FTC but has the possibility of becoming a permanent contract. 

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 17:00pm – overtime required at least 2 days per week (early starts) and again on Saturday’s in the busy period (March – July).

Job Responsibilities

• Delivering stock between sites nationwide by lorry and trailer and to customers throughout the company’s local trading area (Wisbech region)
• Assisting with the preparation of loads including picking, checking and loading
• You will take responsibility for your load and make sure that it has been picked and loaded completely and accurately
• You will take responsibility for ensuring that deliveries between sites/or customers are complete, accurate and delivered securely with the appropriate paperwork
• You will take responsibility for the safety of your load and the condition of your vehicle including cleaning it at least once a week
• You will make your deliveries in the most safe, efficient and cost-effective way
• Assist in keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and compliant with BASIS standards
• General duties such as loading/unloading of vehicles, warehouse duties, general maintenance and administration as necessary
• Helping to ensure that properties and vehicles, including forklifts, are properly maintained and comply with legislative requirements  
• Upholding company processes, procedures and values paying particular attention to the ‘Delivery Drivers and Depot Staff Performance Standards’ document attached

Compliance – you will take your part in ensuring compliance with the following

• Transport Regulations such as ADR, safe loading, Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive, Road Traffic Act
• Maintaining the company’s commitment to Customer Service Excellence

Qualifications

• Full ADR
• Driving Licence (Cat CE essential)
• Forklift
• Drivers CPC

Qualities/Knowledge/Skills

• Practical, common sense approach
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual lifting tasks
• Knowledge of the delivery area and customers
• Enthusiasm, energy, self-discipline, helpfulness, accuracy and commitment
